From Angela “Nick and I met the summer of 2012 at the Cabana bar in Wexford, PA. Nick was the most attractive man I’d ever seen and I could not keep my eyes off him. I eventually invited myself to sit next to him and his guy friends near the fire pits. He was super nervous and I had no idea where it was going. He asked me to sushi and I replied with, I don’t eat sushi, but I love steak. From that moment on Nick and I spoke every single day for the next four years. Nick was just finishing his MBA at Pitt Graduate School. I was just finishing my Associates Degree at Community College. It wasn’t long before Texas Instruments offered Nick an internship in Dallas TX. At that time we were already so in love just a few months in we didn’t even hesitate continuing our relationship long distance. It was a loooooooong 6 months. We had a pretty good idea TI would offer him a contract, but were still job searching in Pittsburgh. Nick was elated to find out they’d be locking him in for the next three years. He was worried about how I would react if he took the position. I couldn’t have been happier for him, but I wasn’t sure where this would lead us next. It was then that I decided he needed to move in with me for a couple months before leaving to see if we were really a match made in heaven. Needless to say, it went really well. I stayed back home to finish my Bachelors Degree at La Roche College for the next year and a half. As soon as I finished I packed up my house I had recently bought just before meeting Nick, our dog we had adopted before he left for Texas, and couldn’t wait to be with him again. I started teaching in Dallas, TX and we lived there for a year. During that time Nick asked me to marry him and I couldn’t wait to be his wife. I immediately started planning all the way from Asia.
Our next chapter begins in Shanghai, China. Nick is such an intelligent man that puts his entire heart and soul into everything he does. He was offered his last rotating role there for Texas Instruments. Not long after, I found a job teaching English in an international school and realized this was the chance of a lifetime. We moved all the way across the country and I have to say this made our bond stronger than ever. Many days of figuring out what people were saying and where we were going all while laughing endlessly about absolutely nothing. This truly took our relationship to a whole new level. We quickly learned to appreciate one another’s uniqueness. We took this opportunity to travel the world together. We went to Beijing, Chengdu, Paris, Bali, Thailand, Taipei, and Hong Kong all while living and working in Asia. Some of my favorite memories would have to be seeing the Eiffel Tower, Great Wall, snorkeling in Thailand and white
water rafting in Bali together. At the end of Nicks 3 year contract Texas Instruments offered him a finance management role in Tucson, AZ. It was a no-brainer, Nick had been working so hard towards getting this role.
It has been such a blessing to meet Nick and have an incredible man that supports me and encourages me in all that I do. I’m so excited to celebrate with my best friend and can’t wait to spend some quality time with him again. We look forward to continuing our adventures to the Grand Canyon next.”
