Carly and Chase

How they met

Chase and I met our freshman year of college at Duquesne University. I was studying pharmacy, while Chase was studying finance. Our paths didn’t cross right away, but luckily, we had some pretty great mutual friends introduce us. Before Christmas break, Chase and our friends were going ice skating downtown at PPG place. They invited me along, and I don’t think Chase or I stopped skating once—we skated around the Christmas tree probably a hundred times, just talking to one another. Before we knew it, we were basically the last ones on the ice! Honestly, I think Chase and I knew from that moment on that we had something special—and the rest was history! We returned from Christmas break, and were basically inseparable. One of our first (and favorite) dates as a couple was watching the St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown, so it was very appropriate we coincidentally had our engagement shoot with Kristi on St. Patrick’s Day!

The Proposal

Through the years we have always been each other’s biggest fans, whether it was motivating each other to pass a test, celebrating our graduations and jobs, or running a half marathon side by side. Our friendship and mutual admiration has always been the forefront of our relationship, which I think is one of the many reasons why our love is so strong. Fast forward 7 years later, Chase proposed two days before Thanksgiving on the beach with our crazy pup, Duke. I was so happy and surprised, but I always knew Chase was the one (you can ask my Mom, I told her shortly after Chase and I started dating that I knew I would marry him someday!). I truly believe God wanted our paths to cross, and I feel so blessed to have found my soulmate in this life. We will be getting married at St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is where my grandparents were married about 60 years ago, followed by our reception at the Club at Blackthorne, where my sister (and maid of honor) is one of our wedding coordinators. We can’t wait to be married and create more memories together, along with our loving family and friends. 2022, we’re ready for you!
