Matt and I met through volunteering with Cystic Fibrosis, he was part of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest 2018 and I was nominated for 50 Finest 2019, I reached out to him through facebook to meet for coffee to go over how to raise money for the foundation through events. We met at Starbucks and spoke for 2 hours about family, friends, being Italian, favorite pizza spots in Pittsburgh and we both knew right then and there that we wanted to continue the conversation later that evening. We made plans to meet for pizza at Piccolo Forno but on the way, I got a flat tire and was stranded waiting for AAA. Matthew without hesitation drove from downtown to the North Hills and changed my tire for me and we ended up going to Nordstrom Cafe and splitting a pizza there. From that date on we were inseparable, and they always say love comes when you least expect it.
They always say God plays a role in our lives and we realized that when we found out Matt’s Mom’s Cousin was a Groomsmen in my Father’s wedding and my sister got engaged on the day my grandmother died and I was proposed to on the day of my grandmother’s birthday without Matthew knowing.
Our highlight of our wedding was joining both of our Italian Families together, our first dance with fireworks, and the moment Matt’s Cousin (Father Chad ) said I now pronounce you husband and wife.
